Gurbangulu Berdimuhamedov, the former president of Turkmenistan and chairman of the People's Council, proposed to nominate Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan for the Nobel Peace Prize.

Axar.az reports that Berdimuhamedov spoke about this initiative at the summit of the Organization of Turkic States held in Ankara.

He said that he is closely acquainted with Erdogan, who is an outstanding personality and a world-class political figure.

"The president of Turkiye is doing great things to ensure the peace not only of his people but of all Muslim nations. We propose to nominate the President of Turkiye for the Nobel Peace Prize and we fully support all relevant proposals. Erdogan is a leader worthy of this international award."
