Turkish diplomat in Russia flees to Japan

One of the diplomats, an employee of Turkish consulate in Kazan, Russia, has fled to Japan, the TRT Haber news channel quoted Turkey’s Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu as saying July 28.

That diplomat had ties to the terrorist organization of Fethullah Gulen, said the foreign minister.

He pointed out that 88 employees, including two ambassadors were dismissed from Turkey’s Foreign Ministry as part of the fight against Gulen movement.

“Currently, the ties of a number of Turkish ambassadors to Gulen movement are being studied,” said Cavusoglu.
