It is not about suspicion, the journalist was caught in the act.

Axar.az reports that Dmitry Peskov, press secretary of the Russian President, said this while talking about the detention of Wall Street Journal reporter Evan Gershkovich.

"This is the authority of the Federal Security Service, they have already made a statement, we have nothing to add," Peskov said.

Peskov stressed that he did not know the details.

"No, I can't specify, I don't have control over the details. I repeat again - it's just in the competence of the special services that fight against spies."
