If the current Turkish government had been in power years ago, the Khojaly genocide would not have happened and the lands of Azerbaijan would not have been occupied.

Axar.az reports that this was stated by Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavushoghlu.

He said that at that time the Turkish authorities did not protect Azerbaijan from the Armenian occupation.

At the same time, the minister emphasized that the Turkish world should be strengthened.

"We have to unite our forces. Azerbaijan's liberation of its lands from occupation restored the self-confidence of the Turkic world. "Now everyone (TDT members) believes that Turkiye will stand by them if it is necessary."
