Regarding ecological and economic consequences, the destruction of the Kakhova hydropower plant is the same as the consequences of using a 5-10 kiloton tactical nuclear weapon.
Axar.az informs that this was mentioned in the report of OSINT analysts.
According to them, such destructive factors are practically the same as a nuclear explosion, except for radiation pollution:
- population evacuation, destruction of enterprises and facilities with harmful and toxic substances (chlorine, ammonia, petroleum products, etc.);
- the destruction of water supply, sewage, and energy supply facilities, the destruction of food and medical logistics;
- Pollution of a part of the Black Sea and other consequences.
"According to the Geneva Convention, the destruction of dams is a war crime and can be equated with the use of weapons of mass destruction," the report said.
