Reports of coup in Congo debunked

Some media outlets have disseminated information about a state coup occurring in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Axar.az reports that the coup is led by the commander of the presidential guard. The country's president is in New York, the army is taking control of the main facilities in the capital.

The spokesperson for the government of the Republic of Congo, Teri Lezen Manqala, has denied rumours of a state coup, stating that everything is calm in the country.

"Incredible reports about some serious events in Brazzaville, the capital of Congo, have emerged. The government denies these false reports. We invite the public to carry on with their activities in a calm manner," - he stated on X social media.
