Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan tried to convince his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin to give up Crimea.

Axar.az reports that the President of Turkiye said that this conversation took place 9 years ago.

"Back in 2014, I had discussions and negotiations with Putin about Crimea. My reasoning did not succeed. I could not force Russia to leave Crimea. I think that this is not possible even now," he said.
