The West believed that a counter-offensive would give Ukraine an advantage in negotiations with Russia, but now this idea has completely faded into the background.

Axar.az reports that Michael Kofman, an employee of the Carnegie Foundation, said this.

"People understand that the war will be long and potential ways to shorten it are a thing of the past. Basic planning should focus on a longer war with different phases, like all wars," he noted.
