The town of Zahidan, the centre of Sistan and Balochistan province, inhabited by ethnic Baloch people, has been surrounded by IRGC, police and military forces.
Axar.az reports that the Campaign of Baloch Activists has released information about this.
The security measures are related to the protest action planned to be held today, starting from the Makkah mosque, after the Friday prayer.
Activists say that armoured vehicles were brought to the streets of the city, and the roads leading to the Mecca mosque were closed. Snipers are placed on top of a number of buildings.
The supposed action is related to the anniversary of the killing of protesting Baloch, which took place on September 30 last year in the city of Zahidan and was known as "Bloody Friday".
It should be noted that on Friday, September 30, 2022, the Baloch protested against the police commander's rape of a 15-year-old girl and his impunity. 103 people, including 13 children, were killed and 300 people were injured as a result of government officials' firing.
