Publicist Andrey Piontkovsky is sure that at the meeting between US President Joe Biden and Chinese leader Xi Jinping, an undisclosed agreement was reached that Beijing will not resolve the Taiwan issue militarily in the near future.
Axar.az reports that the analyst spoke about this in a conversation with Ukrainian journalists.
According to the expert, Washington's decisive response to the war in the Middle East, which began with the attack of Hamas militants on Israel on October 7, as well as the firm statements of the American side regarding its intention to continue supporting Ukraine, changed Beijing's plans for Taiwan:
"The United States responded very decisively: it fully supported Israel, sending two groups of aircraft carriers and a submarine to the coast of Israel. Si understands all this. He understood that the Americans would not retreat, nor would they surrender Ukraine or Israel. The most important unofficial result of this visit was Comrade Xi's promise not to try to solve the Taiwan issue by military means in the near future.
