Hungarians mocked Leyen: Let's not play to their song

Hungary's ruling Fidesz party has put up billboards smearing European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, making her a personal target in the election campaign for the first time.

Axar.az informs that this was reported by Reuters.

The billboards featured Leyen alongside Alex Soros, the son of American financier George Soros.

"Let's not play to their song," the billboard reads.

It should be noted that in 2019, similar billboards depicting former European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker next to Soros were severely criticized by Brussels. Under the pressure of the right-wing centre-right European People's Party represented in the European Parliament, Fidesz had to remove those signs.
