On a bilateral meeting in Sochi Russian President Vladimir Putin thanked President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev for mediating and restoring relationships of his country with Turkey:

“You mentioned the restoration of the Russian-Turkish relations. In this regard, I would like to thank you for your efforts you exerted for helping us to restore the relations. As we can see now, it all ended well”.

President Nazarbayev hailed restorations between Moscow and Ankara:

“I am glad that the relations between Turkey and Russia are getting better”

Two Presidents then discussed Nazarbayev’s recent phone talk with the President of Ukraine, Petro Poroshenko.
