Presidential elections will be held in Hungary in March

Presidential elections in Hungary will be held in March.

Axar.az reports that Mate Kochis, leader of the parliamentary faction of the judge FIDES - Hungarian Civil Union Party, said this.

Kocish explained that if President Katalin Novak sends an official resignation statement to the parliament on February 11, the deputies will have to consider it within 15 days:

"They will be able to decide on the resignation on the first day of the spring session, which will begin on February 26."

He has no doubts that the Hungarian parliament, which elects the president according to the constitution, will approve Novak's resignation. Elections for the head of state must be held within 30 days after that:

"This means that Hungary will have a new president in March. FIDES - Hungarian Civil Union Party and its allies - Christian Democrats have 135 out of 199 seats in the parliament.

It should be noted that yesterday the President of Hungary Katalin Novak announced his resignation.
