Russia has sent 40 tanks to Libya and is building a base

At the time when the relations between Turkiye and Egypt were normalized, Russia also started to become active in Libya.

Axar.az reports that Turkish journalist Huseyn Akif Kuchukal said this in his article.

He noted that the "African Corps" created by Russia sent 40 T-72 tanks to Tobruga under the control of Haftar:

"There are reports that Russian mercenaries have established a military base in the region. I would like to remind you that there are 800-1000 Russian soldiers in Libya. The Russians assist their other allies in Africa, including Central Africa, from Libya. As you know, the West has left Ukraine almost alone against Russia. This allows Moscow to step more comfortably into other strategic regions. Russia sees the eastern part of Libya as a stepping stone to expand its dominance in Africa. The base to be built in Tobruk, together with the ports of Tartus and Latakia in Syria, is a step that will strengthen Russia's presence in the Mediterranean. They certainly want to achieve permanent success in the centuries-long policy of "going to warm seas".
