The first flight of domestic fifth-generation "Kaan" aircraft was successful. This event is a source of pride for the Turkish defence industry.

Axar.az reports that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said this at a rally of the ruling Justice and Development Party in Afyonkarahisar province.

According to him, the Turkish defence industry continues to increase its strength and new achievements are still ahead.

"Today, we passed the next important stage in developing the fifth-generation Kaan aircraft. We continue to create other military-purpose innovations," said Erdogan, presenting the project of the unmanned "Gizılalma" combat aircraft, which already includes ammunition for F-16 aircraft in its arsenal.

It should be noted that "Kaan", the national fighter plane of Turkiye, made its first flight today.
