Israel's heavy blow to Iran

On the evening of April 1, the Israeli Air Force attacked the building of the Iranian consulate in Damascus. As a result of the attack, the building was destroyed. According to the received information, there are a large number of dead and wounded, including diplomats.

Axar.az reports that this was announced in an official statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia.

It was noted that Russia strongly condemns this attack on the Iranian consulate in Syria:

"We consider unacceptable any attack on diplomatic and consular facilities, the immunity of which is guaranteed by the relevant Vienna Conventions.

We pay special attention to the implementation of the attack in a densely populated urban area, which creates a high risk of mass casualties among the civilian population. Such aggressive actions by Israel are unacceptable and must be stopped.

We consider it necessary for all the responsible members of the international community to clearly define their position and give appropriate legal assessment to these actions. We strongly urge the Israeli leadership to abandon the practice of provocative military operations in Syria and other neighboring countries, which are fraught with extremely dangerous consequences in the entire region."
