Yandex.Taxi violates Georgian law

Yandex.Taxi was recently launched in Georgia’s capital, Tbilisi. It helps users find a car in any district of the city. The service is available in Georgian, Russian and English. Its service works via the official app or via taxi.yandex.com.

However, some Georgian users say, Yandex doesn’t recognize Georgia’s territorial integrity, as Abkhazia and so-called South Osetia are not shown as Georgian territories which is a violation of Georgian law “About occupied territories”.

The service was launched in 2011. As for now, it works in Tbilisi, 30 cities of Russia and also Minsk, Erivan and Almaty.
