A new plan has been prepared for Afghans and citizens of other countries living in Tehran.

Axar.az reports that Alirza Fakhari, the governor of Tehran Province, said this.

He said that 50 per cent of foreign citizens in Iran live in Tehran province:

"A plan has been prepared for the arrest and deportation of foreigners living illegally in Tehran, and it will be strictly implemented. A plan has also been prepared for those with legal residence permits. Control over them will also be strengthened," Fakhari said.

Iran's Interior Minister Ahmad Vahidi said in his statement that the country can no longer accept and retain foreign citizens.

The minister asked to create conditions for the foreign citizens in the country to return to their countries.
