The EU is allocating 1 billion euros in aid to Lebanon until 2027 as part of efforts to fight reforms and migration.

Axar.az reports that this was said by the head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen.

He said that this program is intended for reforms in the field of education, the banking sector, armed forces and security forces, and most importantly, to fight migration:

"We will support the country's armed forces and internal security forces. "It is very important that Lebanon maintains relations with the EU's border protection service Frontex to support legal routes to Europe for refugees and to fight illegal migration to Europe as well as people smugglers."
