Did Tbilisi transfer this law from the United States?

The law regarding foreign agents in the United States is very different from the one under consideration in Georgia.

Axar.az reports that Matthew Miller, the spokesman of the US State Department, said this.

"The difference lies in the substance of these laws. Look at the US foreign agent registration law. You will see that it is about people who serve the interests of a foreign government, not about people who are legitimately engaged in non-governmental activities, working for humanitarian and civil society interests. They are completely different. things," Miller emphasized.

It should be noted that the Georgian government stated that the draft law "On Foreign Agents" was prepared using the existing law in the United States.
