So far, Ukraine has primarily attacked oil refineries, not oil fields or crude oil export infrastructure.
Axar.az reports that it was written by "Foreign Affairs" publication.
"This difference is very important. Russia's oil storage capacity is limited. If a refinery is destroyed or damaged, the extracted oil cannot be stored for later use. As a result, Russian producers are left with only two options: to increase crude oil exports or to close the wells and reduce production.
Both options are painful for Russia, but increasing exports is better than reducing production. The data of the last months confirm that, as expected, Russia is exporting more crude oil, while the export of refined fuel has almost reached a historical minimum," the publication said.
