The work on the project of the largest international North-South corridor, which will provide direct access to the ports on the shores of the Persian Gulf and the Indian Ocean, has entered an active phase.

Axar.az reports that Russian President Vladimir Putin said this during a meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council.

"Many foreign countries and large regional structures, such as the Commonwealth of Independent States, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, are interested in our association (AI - ed.).

The Eurasian Union has shown its effectiveness in the face of new challenges, including the sanctions policy applied by some countries and the destruction of many of the main foundations of international trade. Partnership between the countries of the Union in the field of transport and logistics is expanding year by year. The volume of mutual cargo transportation is growing at a good pace, which was significantly helped by the additional development and capacity building of border crossing points between our states," Putin said.
