The General Investigative Department of the Russian Investigative Committee opened a criminal case against Yuri Kuznetsov, the head of the Personnel Department of the Russian Ministry of Defense. According to Article 290, section 6 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, he is suspected of accepting a particularly large amount of bribes.

"According to the investigation, Kuznetsov, who worked as the head of the 8th Department of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces in 2021-2023, received bribes from representatives of commercial structures for certain actions in their favor. More than 100 million rubles and foreign currency money, gold coins, collector's watches and luxury items were found and seized during searches of his actual residence and place of registration. "Based on the petition of the investigator, the court chose Kuznetsov's pretrial detention," said Petrenko.
