The Pope emphasized the connection between climate change and global problems such as loss of biodiversity, inequality, and food shortages:

"Poor countries suffer the most, even though they have minimal impact on climate change, rich countries are responsible for the majority of emissions. Unfortunately, inattention to vulnerable sections of society and misinformation hinders collective efforts."
