There has been an armed confrontation in the cities of Zahedan and Khash in the Sistan and Baluchestan province of Iran, where ethnic Baluchis reside compactly.

It is reported that last night around 20:00 local time, an altercation occurred on Besat Street in Zahedan, resulting in the death of 19-year-old Nasir Kashani and the injury of 4 others.

In the city of Khash in the province, one person was killed and several others injured as two mini-cars came under fire.

Unofficial sources suggest that the number of casualties and injuries may be higher.

It is noted that the incident was perpetrated by unidentified gunmen, with no further details provided about the circumstances.
