Erdogan criticized Imamoglu's move

All holders of positions - whether appointed or elected by the people - should behave more responsibly.

Axar.az reports that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan made these remarks while commenting on Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem Imamoglu's decision to take journalists to Rome.

"No institution that spends our nation's taxes can engage in extravagance that hurts our people. Lately, we have witnessed municipal resources being used mainly for personal purposes. No one should be offended, but it is not justifiable for journalists to charter a private plane to Rome from the nation's pocket. All holders of positions should behave more carefully in such matters," Erdogan emphasized.
