Tehran's representative in the Iranian parliament, Masoud Pezeshkian, will nominate himself as a candidate to participate in the upcoming presidential elections.
Axar.az reports that this information has been circulated by the Iranian media.
He announced his candidacy for the presidency with the aim of increasing election activity:
"I want to eliminate the distrust among Iranians, both inside and outside the country, regarding the elections. I am currently awaiting the announcement of candidacy by reformist politicians. After conducting surveys, I will decide whether to reach an agreement or participate independently in the elections."
It should be noted that the politician from Tabriz, Masoud Pezeshkian, served as the Minister of Health during the Mohammad Khatami era. He is a prominent figure in the reformist political movement.
