Last years, Iran and Armenia signed an agreement on the mutual opening of consulates in Tabriz and Gafan. Iran's professional activity in Gafan continues successfully and consular services are provided to all Iranians.

Axar.az reports that these words were said by the spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran, Nasser Kanani.

According to him, Armenia is also preparing for the opening of a consulate in Tabriz:

"During the last visit of the late Minister of Foreign Affairs Huseyn Amir Abdollahian to Armenia, Iran's agreement regarding the reciprocal opening of the Armenian Consulate General in Tabriz city was conveyed to the competent authorities of this country, and the Armenian side is doing the necessary preparations for this."
