A number of well-known French people have written an open letter to French President Emmanuel Macron, urging him to send French troops to Armenia.

Axar.az reports that the French publication "Le Point" published information about this.

In the appeal, they thanked Macron for "the initiative to provide defensive military assistance to this state by allowing the supply of certain weapons, as well as the training of Armenian soldiers in our best schools."

Nevertheless, they said that this aid "is not able to stop Azerbaijan, which has great military power." They claimed that there is a "genocide risk" for Armenians.

"Therefore, we call to send the French armed forces to this brotherly country," the letter stated.

Address by Paris Mayor Ann Hidalgo, philosopher Elizabeth Badinter, former Minister of Europe and Foreign Affairs Bernard Kouchner, President of the Ile-de-France region Valérie Pécres, members of the European Parliament François-Xavier Bellamy, Nathalie Loiseau, Jean-Marc Germain, Mayor of Montpellier Michael Delafos and others signed.
