I apologize to the people for what happened

The majority of citizens do not participate in elections because they are bitter. On my behalf, I apologize to the people for what has happened so far.

Axar.az reports that Mohammad Javad Zarif, former foreign minister and member of Masoud Pezeshkian's election headquarters, wrote these words on his X account.

The former minister, who said that voter turnout was low, saw the reason for this in people's dissatisfaction with the government:

"If you don't want to emigrate, take part in the election."

It should be noted that slightly more than 40% of voters participated in the first round of the presidential elections held on June 28.

Masoud Pezeshkian and Said Jalili will compete in the second round on July 5.
