After the extraordinary presidential election in Iran and the victory of Masoud Pezeshkian, the quarrel and conflict between his rivals Saeed Jalili and Mohammad Bagir Ghalibaf intensified.

Axar.az reports that this is known from the statements issued by the election headquarters.

In the statements issued by the election headquarters of the two candidates belonging to the conservative "Revolutionary Front" political movement, they blamed each other for Pezeshkia's victory.

Ghalibaf said that in the first round, Said Jalili did not withdraw his candidacy in favor of him, Masoud Pezeshkia won, and as a result, "Ibrahim Raisi's political course" ended.

Said Jalili issued a similar statement and accused the speaker of the parliament, Muhammad Bagir Ghalibaf.

It was revealed from the statements that before the election, the commander of the IRGC's Quds forces, Ismail Qaani, held a closed meeting with Jalili and Ghalibaf in Mashhad and asked one of them to withdraw his candidacy in favor of the other.

It should be noted that Masoud Pezeshkian was elected the 9th president of Iran, having collected 16.384 million (53.6%) votes based on the results of 30.53 million ballots in the second round of the presidential election held in Iran on July 5.
