The new government of Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian will actively support initiatives aimed at achieving peace in Ukraine.

Axar.az reports that this was stated in Pezeshkian's address to the world community published in "Tehran Times" newspaper.

"Russia is a valuable strategic ally and neighbor of Iran, and my administration will continue to expand and strengthen our cooperation. We are committed to peace for the people of Russia and Ukraine, and my government will be ready to actively support initiatives aimed at achieving this goal," the statement said.

It should be noted that before this, Russia stated that it is ready to consider possible mediation efforts of Iran regarding the war in Ukraine.
