6 women activists were arrested in Iran

Today, 6 female human rights defenders living in Gilan province of Iran were arrested and transferred to Lakan prison in Rasht city.

Axar.az reports that human rights organizations have released information about this.

It was reported that each of the female activists was sentenced to 6 years, 1 month and 17 days of imprisonment.

They were accused of "joining an organization with the aim of undermining national security" and "propaganda against the government".
