A call from a British minister to Israel and Palestine

Britain's new foreign secretary, David Lammy, called for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza during a visit to Israel and the Palestinian territories.

Axar.az reports that he said the ongoing war in Gaza was relentless and the UK wanted to secure a ceasefire through diplomatic efforts and support credible progress towards a two-state solution.

Lemmy met with Benjamin Netanyahu and Mahmoud Abbas in Jerusalem. He will also meet with Israeli President Isaac Herzog on Monday.

He also called for the release of all hostages and a sharp increase in the amount of humanitarian aid to Gaza.
