France's foreign debt reached 800 billion euros

France's foreign debt has reached 800 billion euros or 28 percent of GDP. However, this figure was equal to 24.8 percent of GDP in 2022.

Axar.az reports that this was stated in the statement of Francois Villeroy de Gallo, director of the Bank of France.

The director expressed this deterioration of foreign debt as a reflection of the weaknesses of the French economy.

He stressed the correlation between the government deficit and foreign trade and urged the government to redouble efforts to increase competitiveness.

Francois Villeroy de Gallo also said that France's current account deficit reached 28 billion euros last year.
