The name database should be enriched with Iranian and Islamic names, and an interactive system should help parents choose Iranian and Islamic names.

Axar.az reports that Hashim Kargar, head of the Iranian Citizenship Registration Department, said this.

In order to develop the Iranian national identity, he advised the relevant institutions and individuals to enrich the identity database with names related to Iranian and Islamic culture.

Note that in Iran, names other than non-Persian and Arabic names are considered non-Iranian names.

Azerbaijani parents face deprivation and pressure for choosing Turkish names for their children, children are not given identity cards for years because of Turkish names.
