After the assassination of the head of the Political Bureau of Hamas, Ismail Haniyeh, various claims are being made about who the new head of the organization will be.

Axar.az reports that among the most popular versions in the Israeli media, the name of Khalid Mashal is mentioned.

According to information, Mashal will serve as the head of the Hamas Political Bureau until the 2025 elections.

Khalid Mashal headed the Hamas Political Bureau in 1996-2017. Against the background of discussions within Hamas, his candidacy received wide support.

It should be recalled that the head of the Political Bureau of the Hamas movement, Ismail Haniyeh, was killed as a result of a rocket attack in Tehran, the capital of Iran.

The attack took place after Haniyeh attended the swearing-in ceremony of Iran's new President Masoud Pezeshkian.
