Ukraine bought F-16s: what will change?

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed the purchase of the first batch of F-16 fighters. However, it is unlikely that Ukraine will be able to use more than 10 F-16s this year.

Axar.az informs that the "New York Times" reported on this.

"The long-awaited arrival of jets from the West should bolster the country's defenses, although Kyiv has bought too few planes to have an immediate impact on the battlefield," the report said.

It is noted that the arrival of Western aircraft will lift the morale of Ukrainians, which has been weakened by months of slow but steady advances on the Russian battlefield and devastating attacks on the country's power grid:

"The arrival of these aircraft will also create a new threat to Russian pilots and help deter them from front-line attacks. The F-16s are also expected to improve Ukraine's ability to shoot down Russian missiles. However, experts say a shortage of trained pilots and a limited number of F-16s It does not allow Kyiv to immediately influence the battlefield."
