Bangladeshi president dissolves parliament

Bangladesh President Shahabuddin Chuppu dissolved parliament to form a caretaker government after Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina resigned and fled the country.

Axar.az informs that TASS reported on this.

"According to the decision taken after the meeting of the president with the army leadership, leaders of various political parties, representatives of civil society and leaders of the student movement, the national parliament was dissolved," the report said.

It should be noted that protesting student leaders said that they will not accept any government other than the one created by the student movement. Nobel laureate Muhammad Yunus is expected to play a leading role in the transitional government.
