Israel has officially announced the beginning of a new phase of war against Hezbollah.
Axar.az reports that neutralizing Hezbollah, which is a more organized force than Hamas, will be challenging, but Israel currently has two objectives:
- To ensure security along its northern borders and to return those who have fled their homes due to the war.
- To draw Iran directly, or at least through Hezbollah, into a regional war, preventing Tehran from normalizing relations with the West.
Predicting how the war will unfold is controversial, as it will not be easy for Israel, which is still engaged in combat in Gaza, to confront Hezbollah. The Iran-Hezbollah front is also not interested in active battles. However, the neutralization of Hezbollah's communication devices (radios) does not rule out a scenario in which Israel deploys troops to Lebanon and engages in positional battles with the group. The failure of communication devices could disrupt coordination within the Hezbollah group during potential confrontations. It is not excluded that this could be part of the Israeli army's intervention plan.
