Shin Bet has thwarted an attempt by Iran to carry out assassinations of several officials in Israel.

A joint investigation by Shin Bet and the Lahav 433 police unit revealed that the Iranian government attempted to recruit Israeli citizens to attack government officials. They typically used various websites and platforms related to finance, cryptocurrency, and job searches. They promised Israeli citizens official employment and offered high payments for carrying out various tasks, ranging from burning vehicles to harming individuals.
