According to the analysis of the budget project, the Russian Ministry of Defense plans to recruit at least 225,000 new soldiers for contract service over the next three years.

Axar.az reports that Russian media has provided this information.

The document indicates that 90 billion rubles have been allocated for one-time payments for signing contracts with military personnel.

Currently, the one-time payment for signing a contract with the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation is 400,000 rubles. This amount was increased by Vladimir Putin’s decree dated July 31, 2024; prior to that, the payment was 195,000 rubles.

If the payment amount remains unchanged, the allocated 90 billion rubles will allow for the recruitment of 225,000 new contract soldiers over three years. If the previous amount of 195,000 rubles is restored, then it would be possible to recruit approximately 461,500 people.
