Iranian border guards have opened fire on Afghans attempting to cross into the country in the Kalkan area of the Saravan district along the Afghanistan border.

Axar.az informs that this was reported by human rights organizations.

It has been reported that out of a group of 300 people, only 70 survived, while 230 either were killed or injured.

Afghanistan's former Attorney General Mohammad Farid Hamidi also commented on this issue on his X account:

"This is a deliberate massacre of Afghan refugees by the Iranian government, and it is a crime against humanity."
