Russia issues critical statement on Israel

Israel remains an important partner of Russia in the Middle East region in today's difficult geopolitical environment.

Axar.az reports that these words were said by Anatoly Viktorov, Russia's ambassador to Tel Aviv.

"Our efforts to solve urgent humanitarian problems, including the release of all the hostages held in the Gaza Strip, first of all our compatriots, have not stopped for a day. It is possible to achieve concrete results in this direction," the ambassador said.

"Russia condemns any terrorist act, including the actions of Hamas on the territory of Israel on October 7, 2023, but the disproportionate use of force that caused mass casualties among the civilian population cannot but cause regret and condemnation," Viktorov said.
