Kremlin ready to invite Georgian Dream leadership

The Kremlin is ready to invite the leadership of the Georgian Dream party to Moscow. It has no doubts about Georgian Dream's victory in tomorrow's parliamentary elections.

Axar.az reports that according to sources cited by Russia's "Politsatirka" Telegram channel, "Georgian Dream came to power in Georgia by defeating Mikheil Saakashvili's team in 2012. The party is against anti-Russian sanctions and is generally oriented towards mutual engagement with Moscow. Sources close to the Russian Foreign Ministry indicate that it seems Georgian Dream still enjoys significant support from Georgian society. Therefore, unless an extraordinary event occurs, the current leadership is likely to remain in power. The Russian leadership is prepared for active cooperation with Tbilisi on all current issues, including helping Georgia normalize relations with Abkhazia and South Ossetia.

The first step could be a visit by the leadership of Georgian Dream to Russia this year," the report states.
