The development of relations with the BRICS countries meets Turkiye's interests in all areas.

Axar.az reports that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said this at a briefing held after the government meeting in Ankara.

Commenting on the results of his participation in the 16th BRICS summit in Kazan, the head of state of Turkiye drew attention to the potential of the member countries of the organization.

"BRICS countries share 30 percent of the planet's territory and 45 percent of the world's population. 40 percent of the world's oil is produced in these countries. Two-fifths of world trade is carried out by these countries. I am sure that the BRICS platform will open up great opportunities for Turkiye, which strives for economic growth in the future," said the Turkish leader, noting that there are "wide opportunities for cooperation" with the BRICS countries.
