Ukraine and Russia begin negotiations

Ukraine and Russia have begun initial negotiations to end mutual attacks on energy infrastructure.

Axar.az informs that this was reported by the Financial Times.

The negotiations were resumed with Qatar's mediation after the breach of a previously reached agreement due to Ukraine's attack on Russia's Kursk region in August.

According to senior Ukrainian officials, there has already been a noticeable decrease in the frequency of attacks on energy infrastructure from both sides, which is seen as a result of the initial agreement between the countries' intelligence services.

The future development of the negotiation process is expected to depend on the possibilities for resolving the current military conflict and the mutual conditions set by both parties.

Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky stated in an interview with the publication that stopping mutual attacks on energy facilities could mark the beginning of the end of military operations.
