Italy sends more than 15 tons of humanitarian aid to Gaza

An Italian air force plane departed on Saturday carrying over 15 tons of humanitarian aid for Gaza, the country’s defense ministry announced.

Axar.az reports that citing Reuters, The C-130J aircraft, which took off from Pisa, transported aid collected by the charity Confederazione Nazionale delle Misericordie d’Italia, according to the statement.

“Italy is fully committed to alleviating the suffering of Gaza's civilian population,” said Defense Minister Guido Crosetto. He emphasized Italy’s dedication to supporting those in need and working towards de-escalation in the region.

The plane is set to land in Larnaca, Cyprus, where the supplies will be transferred to Gaza.

This mission follows Italy's earlier Food for Gaza initiative, which has delivered multiple shipments of aid to those affected by the ongoing conflict in the Palestinian territory.
