The West is preparing for military operations against Russia and Belarus.

Axar.az reports that this was said by Alexander Volfovich, State Secretary of the Security Council of Belarus.

He said that the nuclear issue is of particular concern.

"Belarus and Russia are facing increasing security threats in the context of a sharp geopolitical conflict. The nature of the activities carried out shows that the West is preparing for military operations against the Union state. The increase in the number of American and NATO troops on the western borders of the Union state, as well as the increase in political and economic pressure from the United States and its allies, suggest this. So, since the beginning of 2024, more than 400 exercises have been held in Europe, and about 500,000 soldiers have participated in these exercises.

According to the Belarusian official, the nuclear issue is of particular concern:

"The USA has started to modernize the tactical nuclear weapons deployed in European countries. He also strengthened the preparation of his forces. In October 2024, two NATO exercises were held in Europe with the participation of 2.7 thousand soldiers and 90 aircraft capable of carrying nuclear-tipped cruise missiles. Military infrastructure is being actively improved on the territory of Eastern European countries. Modernization of five airfields, two naval bases and six large landfills in Poland and the Baltic countries has been completed.
