Papuashvili: Joining EU would damage our economy

If Georgia joins the European Union today, its economy will decline, and it will have to immediately comply with all the restrictions in force in the EU.

Axar.az reports that this was stated by the Speaker of the Georgian Parliament, Shalva Papuashvili, in an interview with the "Rustavi 2" TV channel.

"We must be prepared to join the European Union if we win, but we should not lose or harm ourselves. If we join today, we will destroy our economy due to the simultaneous implementation of restrictions (sanctions on Russia)," he said.
